The Chile Solar Eclipse July 2, 2019 will be seen just inland from La Serena, Chile. We have had numerous requests for a shorter tour for the eclipse.   From pickup in Santiago, on to Vina del Mar and wine country.  We have super super stop for eclipse happiness and a long day to La Serena for the solar eclipse. After a late breakfast, we move on to Santiago for two nights.

You may leave at the end of the tour or go to Buenos Aires, Easter Island and Iguazu or to Peru on the way home.  The Atacama Desert in Chile is fully booked before and after the eclipse. We know because we have one of the resorts and a hotel for our use before the eclipse. They have been sold out for months.

1   6/30/2019   Transfer from SCL airport to VIÑA DEL MAR + Estancia El Cuadro

Private transfer from airport to Viña del Mar. Most flights arrive before 0800. Visit to Estancia el Cuadro Half Day with wine tasting and lunch. Dinner in a Local Restaurant.  Welcome lecture from your host.  Accommodation in hotel of the selected category.

2   7/1/2019    VIÑA DEL MAR- VALPARAISO

Breakfast. Full Day Tour Guided Viña del Mar & Valparaíso. unch in a  Local VIP Restaurant with views.  Afternoon shopping as you will not have luggage going to La Serena on the coach. You may purchase whatever you need to be happy at the eclipse site.  Things such as coolers, chairs, blankets, wine.  Wine tasting and Dinner in a Local Restaurant with views. Accommodation in hotel of the selected category.

3       7/2/2019        VIÑA DEL MAR – LA SERENA – VIÑA DEL MAR

Box breakfast on the coach with an early wake up call.  Load the coach with your gear, happiness materials, ice.  Transfer from Viña to La Serena on newer expressway on coach.  Lunch in a  Local VIP Restaurant with views.    Transfer to our eclipse site just east of town in the foot hills overlooking the city. Statistically inland just a little bit improves probabilities of seeing the solar eclipse.  Transfer back to Viña del Mar.  Late informal Diner.  Chileans eat dinner late.   Accommodation in hotel of the selected category.

4                  7/3/2019               VIÑA DEL MAR – SANTIAGO DE CHILE

Midmorning transfer to Santiago de Chile.  Guided  tour of Santiago with lunch at Central Market and check into your hotel. Evening dinner show at Bali Hai Restaurant.

5      7/04/2019    TRF OUT HOTEL to SCL Airport

Breakfast and late checkout for flights.  Free morning for last minute shopping.  Private transportation from Hotel to Santiago Airport.  International flights tend to leave in the evening.  You may store luggage at hotel and have free time in Santiago.  Free optional morning walking tour.  Just pay the tips.  If you need to leave to catch a flight for elsewhere in South America, you may leave earlier.

*International Airfare.   Once we have 10 from any LATAM gateway, we can offer a group fare.  We can ticket airfares.

TERMS  Tour must have 20 to run.  ”’If we have less than 20 we will have to adjust the price by $200. $500 pp deposit.  $200 cancellation fee applies.  After May 28, 2019 $350 cancellation penalty.  Up to June 13, 2019 $400 penalty.  After June 13th, refunds at the discretion of Tropical Sails Corp.  We will make effort to refund any monies we can recover.   Balance is due April 28, 2019.   2% discount for payments by check or wire transfer.  $200 pp rebooking fee from other Tropical Sails Corp tours.
